Our story
205 years of faith, strength and hope in Columbus.

Shiloh Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church is one of the oldest African American churches in Columbus, Mississippi. Long before it was considered socially acceptable to worship united together, Shiloh offered a place for people of color to gather in the Lord's name.
Only seven pastors have led Shiloh in its 205 years. Over the decades Shiloh has served as a place for developing spiritual strength, faith and hope. The church has also been a home for social gatherings, business meetings and education.
Shiloh holds a significant place not only in the hearts of its members and community, but also in the history of Columbus, Mississippi.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
Our pastor
Pastor Ty Harris
Pastor Ty Harris is the seventh pastor of Shiloh. He came up through this house, serving as Youth Pastor and as First Assistant to Bishop Freddie B. Edwards Sr. before being called to lead the church.
His approach is simple: meet people where they are. He talks often about the folks who come on Christmas, Mother's Day and Easter, and he wants every one of them to leave knowing someone at Shiloh saw them and was glad they came.
In loving memory
Bishop Freddie B. Edwards Sr.
Sixth pastor of Shiloh ยท 1990 to 2025
Bishop Edwards accepted his call into the ministry in 1987, and three years later became the sixth pastor of Shiloh. For 35 years he overcame adverse challenges and grew into a passionate servant leader who worked tirelessly to share the Gospel.
He wanted everyone to know that regardless of the situation or circumstance, all things are possible with God. Bishop Edwards went home to be with the Lord in 2025, reunited with his beloved wife, First Lady Willie Mae Edwards. He was the proud father of Clarisca F. Edwards-Carr and Freddie Edwards Jr.
All things are possible with God.
What we believe
Grounded in the Gospel, guided by the living word.
Membership is a matter of receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and experiencing baptism by immersion. This statement isn't an exhaustive list of our faith, but it is the foundation Shiloh stands on.
